Reverse description The crowned quartered Royal Arms of Spain, displaying the castles of Castile and lions of León in the first and fourth quarters, the pale-striped arms of Aragon in the second and third, and the fleurs-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty in the central escutcheon, surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The shield is encircled by a wreath of laurel and floral branches. The peripheral legend NOMINA MAGNA SEQUOR is inscribed around the upper half of the field, with the mint mark M and assayer initials M·M appearing in the lower legend, flanking the base of the wreath. A toothed border frames the entire composition.
