Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Felipe V facing right, wearing a voluminous period wig with elaborate curled locks cascading over the shoulders, rendered in the baroque style characteristic of early 18th-century Spanish colonial coinage. The effigy occupies the majority of the field, with fine detail visible in the lace cravat and armor at the truncation. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, with the date appearing at the base of the design below the truncation. The irregular flan, typical of cob coinage, results in partial striking of the legend on some examples.
