(Translation: Philip V, by the Grace of God, King of Spain and the Indies)
Reverse description The crowned Royal Arms of Spain occupy the central field, quartered with the castles of Castile and the lions of León, with the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty in the central escutcheon. The shield is flanked to the left by the mint mark Mo and assayer initials MF, and to the right by the denomination numeral 8, all within an ornate floral and chain border. Below the shield, the crowned Mo mint monogram appears at the base. The circumferential legend INITIUM SAPIENTIAE TIMOR DOMINI encircles the design, and a finely toothed rim borders the entire reverse.
