| Obverse description | Draped bust of King Carlos IV facing right, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair, which is tied with a ribbon at the nape. The king wears a military uniform with elaborate embroidery visible at the collar and shoulder. The date appears in the exergue below the effigy, flanked by pellets. The circular legend surrounding the bust reads CAROL·IIII·D·G· to the left and HISP·ET IND·R· to the right, identifying the monarch as King of Spain and the Indies by the Grace of God. |
