Obverse description The Chilean national coat of arms occupies the central field, displaying a quartered shield supported by a crowned and rampant huemul to the left and a crowned condor to the right, both facing the shield. Three large ostrich feathers rise prominently above the shield. The supporters stand upon an elaborate foliate and scrollwork base, with a small five-pointed star at lower left and right flanking the date. The legend REPUBLICA DE CHILE · S · arcs along the upper periphery, with the date below the central device.
