| Obverse description | The obverse features the national arms of Ecuador set within an oval cartouche: two towering Andean peaks (Chimborazo and Pichincha) rising from a coastal landscape, surmounted by a radiant sun with a facing visage and flanked by four five-pointed stars above the arc. A tower-crowned summit appears at left and a condor perches at upper right of the shield. The circular legend REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR runs along the upper periphery, with the mint mark and assayer initials QUITO M.V. positioned at the lower field, all within a toothed border. |
