Reverse description St. Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, depicted standing facing in full pontifical vestments, holding a salt box in his left hand and a crozier in his right hand. Beneath the saint, the heraldic shield of the Archbishopric of Salzburg is prominently displayed. The encircling Latin legend identifies the figure as Sanctus Rupertus Episcopus Salisburgensis, with the mint year appearing at the conclusion of the inscription. The design is contained within a rope-pattern border consistent with the obverse.
