Reverse description The reverse presents a bold high-relief depiction of an Australian Wedge-tailed Eagle (Aquila audax) in dynamic landing pose, wings dramatically spread upward and talons extended forward as it alights upon a rocky outcrop. The entire eagle motif is selectively gold-gilded, creating a striking contrast against the mirror-polished silver proof field. The legend 'AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE' arcs along the upper periphery. Along the lower left, the inscription '2023 5oz 9999 SILVER' records the year of issue, weight, and fineness, while the Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark appears at the bottom centre. The engraver's initials 'JM' are incuse at the base of the design.
