| Reverse description | A dynamic scene depicting a galloping mare and her young foal in full stride, set against a sweeping landscape of mountain peaks and open grasslands, evoking traditional imagery associated with the Chinese Lunar Year of the Horse. The composition fills the field with naturalistic detail in the animals' musculature and flowing manes. The Chinese character 馬 (Horse) appears prominently alongside the Latin legend HORSE and the date 2026, with the Perth Mint's P mintmark and the designer's initials IJ also present in the field. |

| Additional information |
The Perth Mint has produced lunar series coins since 1996, cycling through the twelve-year calendar twice over. This third iteration — now carrying Charles III's effigy following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022 — marks the first Horse year to appear under his portrait. The transition between monarchs mid-series creates an unplanned portrait discontinuity that future collectors will track across the full twelve-coin run.
