| Obverse description | At left, an intaglio vignette of Minerva in profile bust, helmeted and facing right, set within a fine lathe-work border. The issuer's name appears in large ornate lettering across the upper portion of the note, with the denomination written out in script at center reading 'Ocho centesimos fuertes' and the date '1º de Enero de 1869'. Numeral value '8 Cents' appears at lower left and right, with the imprint of American Bank Note Co. New York along the lower margin. |
