The legend CASH EIGHT arcs along the upper periphery in Latin capitals, while the Malayalam equivalent കാശു എട്ട് is inscribed along the lower periphery, all contained within an outer beaded border. Two six-pointed rosette or star ornaments flank the monogram at the mid-field on either side, and the issuer's initials RV appear within the legend.
