| Obverse description | At centre, the national coat of arms of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina — a shield bearing a diagonal band with fleurs-de-lis, supported by stylised foliate ornaments — is depicted above a view of the historic Old Bridge (Stari Most) of Mostar spanning a river, with buildings visible on either bank. The circular legend REPUBLIKA BOSNA I HERCEGOVINA runs along the upper periphery in Latin script. The date 1995 appears in the lower field, flanked by decorative star ornaments. |

Bosnia and Herzegovina issued this coin just months after the Dayton Agreement ended nearly four years of war — the country was still without functioning infrastructure across much of its territory when the dies were prepared. Participating in a youth athletics competition was, for Sarajevo, an almost surreal prospect given that the city had endured the longest siege of a capital city in the history of modern warfare, only formally lifted in February 1996.
KM#67 was produced for the 1995 European Youth Olympics held in Bath, England.
