Additional information

Issued to mark the 75th anniversary of the Indian National Flag — the Tricolour adopted on 22 July 1947 by the Constituent Assembly — this commemorative was authorized under the RBI Act and released through designated bank branches rather than general circulation channels. The .500 fine silver specification, notably below the .925 standard common to prestige world coinage, reflects India's long-standing policy of using lower-alloy compositions for commemorative rupee issues to manage production costs at scale.
