Messhaus Kosmos was one of Leipzig's specialist trade exhibition halls, and this 75 Pfennig Schein dates from the hyperinflationary spiral of 1921, when small-denomination coin had effectively vanished from circulation and private issuers stepped in to fill the gap. The "Tabak" designation indicates this notgeld was tied specifically to the tobacco trade sector — Leipzig's trade fair complex was organized by industry, and individual Messhäuser sometimes issued their own scrip for internal settlement during fair weeks.
Adolf Forker was a Leipzig-based jobbing printer responsible for a large volume of local notgeld production during this period. Nothing unusual about the presswork.
