Reverse description Orange outer border frames the note with a pale blue-grey ruled underprint. A central woodcut-style vignette occupies the middle field, showing a farmer in a hat leading a donkey before a windmill, rendered in a naïve folk-art manner in black and white. The denomination '75 Pfg.' is repeated in bold black Fraktur numerals within orange rectangular panels at the left and right sides, each topped and bottomed by decorative corner ornaments with guilloche rosettes. The issuer legend 'Gemeinde Thesdorf (com. Amtsbez. Pinneberg)' is inscribed in orange Fraktur script below the central vignette, with the word 'Notgeld' in the same script above it.

Thesdorf is a small community in Schleswig-Holstein, and like hundreds of similarly minor German municipalities, it issued emergency paper money — Notgeld — during the inflation and currency disruption that followed the First World War. The Konrad Hanf printing house in Hamburg handled small-run Notgeld contracts for numerous northern German issuers during this period, which makes their involvement unremarkable in itself, though it does confirm the note was locally sourced rather than sent to one of the larger specialist printers.

The 75 Pfennig denomination is one of the more common Notgeld face values — chosen to supplement, not duplicate, official Reichsbank denominations in short supply at the retail level.
