Obverse description The obverse is printed on a tan ground and carries a large red Fraktur title legend at the top reading 'Die Sparkasse zu Lilienthal i.H.' A multi-line Gothic-script text body in the centre explains the note's commemorative purpose, honouring the astronomer Schroeter, whose name appears in red letterpress. To the lower left a vignette of a local church building is printed in red and blue line art, while to the lower right a vignette of two sailing vessels appears in blue and black; the large numeral '75' in bold black type is centred between the two vignettes. The lower panel carries the date 'Lilienthal, den 15. Mai 1921', a serial number, and two manuscript signatures followed by the designations 'VORS.' and 'DIREKTOR'.
