| Obverse description | The obverse presents a vivid polychrome vignette of a stylised map of Africa in yellow, with the former German colonial territories — Togo, Kamerun, Deutsch-Südwest, and Deutsch-Ostafrika — marked in red and labelled alongside the dates 1884–1918; Kiautschau and Deutsche Südseeinseln are also indicated on the periphery.
