Reverse description The reverse presents a richly coloured topographical vignette of Dar es Salaam, the capital of German East Africa, viewed from a palm-fringed shoreline with tall coconut palms framing a tranquil harbour scene; a church steeple and colonial-era buildings are visible in the middle distance across the water, with a vessel at anchor to the left. The border is a decorative ochre and brown frame with the denomination '75 PFENNIG' repeated in each corner. The colonial territory name and city name appear in bold lettering at top and bottom respectively.
