Kirchhain in der Niederlausitz — now Chóśebuz-Zarow in Brandenburg — was a small Lower Lusatian town that issued this Notgeld note during the early 1920s inflation crisis, when municipal and commercial issuers across Germany flooded local economies with emergency small-denomination scrip to compensate for the near-total disappearance of coins from circulation. The Wiedemannsche Druckerei AG in Saalfeld handled a considerable volume of such regional commissions, functioning as a workhorse printer for Thuringian and Saxon municipal clients throughout this period.
The 75 Pfennig denomination is among the less common face values in German Notgeld issues, most series clustering around 25, 50, and 1 Mark.
