| Obverse description | The left half of the note is occupied by the municipal coat of arms of Malchow, rendered in colour with two brick towers flanking a central shield bearing a heart and a fish, topped by a mural crown and supported by foliate scrollwork. The place name 'MALCHOW i/M' appears in a decorative panel at the upper left, while the right half carries the issuing text in Gothic blackletter script, with the denomination 'Fünfundsiebzig Pfennig' set within a red-bordered rectangular cartouche. Malchow is a small town on the Müritz lake district in Mecklenburg, and like hundreds of German municipalities, its savings bank issued Notgeld during the acute small-change shortages of 1921–1922. Flemming & Wiskott in Glogau were among the more prolific provincial printers of the period, supplying series to dozens of issuing bodies across northern and central Germany — their output was competent and consistent, which is precisely why so much of it survives in quantity.
The 75 Pfennig denomination is characteristic of the second wave of municipal issues, when issuers moved away from round figures to discourage hoarding and encourage redemption.
