Tarnowitz — now Tarnowskie Góry in Poland — issued this note during the chaotic plebiscite aftermath in Upper Silesia. The 1921 referendum had narrowly favored Germany, but the League of Nations partition awarded the industrial eastern strip, including much of the mining region, to Poland anyway. Germany's Weimar inflation was already accelerating, and municipal authorities across the contested zone scrambled to issue local Notgeld to keep small transactions moving. This 75 Pfennig denomination exists precisely because small Reichsmark coinage had effectively vanished from circulation by 1922.

Carl Flemming & Wiskott in Glogau handled a considerable volume of Silesian Notgeld printing during this period.
