| Reverse description | The reverse carries a central polychrome vignette within a beaded rectangular frame, illustrating the 'Obere Tor' (Upper Gate) of Meiningen as it appeared before its demolition in 1876, with uniformed soldiers standing at the baroque arched gateway flanked by sculptural groups; the artist's signature 'Gg. Lilie Mgn. 21' is noted within the vignette. A banner scroll at the top bears a local dialect inscription, while the denomination '75' and 'Pf.' appear in large grey numerals and script at the lower left and right corners respectively. The printer's imprint 'Franz Scheiner, Würzburg' is printed in small italics at the lower right margin. |
