Ballenstedt notgeld from the 1921 inflation surge, issued by the district committee rather than the town itself — a distinction worth noting, since Kreis-level issues often had broader mandatory acceptance across surrounding municipalities than purely municipal pieces. Louis Koch of Halberstadt was a regional commercial printer, not a specialist security press, which shows in the relatively modest production quality typical of his notgeld contracts from this period.
The Dockhorn design credit is unusual enough to preserve — most Koch-printed notgeld from Halberstadt went unsigned.
