Weinviertel is not a village but a broad wine-growing region in Lower Austria — which makes this note's attribution slightly unusual. Notgeld issued at the regional rather than municipal level was uncommon in the Austrian emergency currency wave of 1920–1921, when virtually every Gemeinde produced its own scrip independently. Whether "Ortsgemeinde Weinviertel" represents a specific administrative subdivision or a loose regional association of communities is a question the Jaksch cataloging leaves somewhat open.
The single signatory, Josef Schober, suggests a lean local issuing structure. The IIb designation in the Jaksch/Pick reference indicates a variant within the series — likely a paper stock or overprint distinction.
