Sankt Agatha is a small Upper Austrian market commune, and like hundreds of similarly modest municipalities, it issued emergency paper money — Notgeld — during the acute coin shortage that followed World War One. The 75 Heller denomination is an odd choice by modern sensibilities, but fractional values in the 10–80 Heller range were exactly what disappeared from circulation first, hoarded or melted as the monetary system buckled between 1919 and 1921.
The Jaksch/Pick reference JPR0877Ia places this firmly in the first wave of Austrian municipal issues, before the inflationary spiral made such small denominations economically pointless.
