| Obverse description | Printed in green on cream paper within a ruled border over a hatched underprint, the note carries a central circular vignette in Jugendstil woodcut style showing a seated putto clasping a sheaf of reeds or straw. The denomination '75 HELLER' appears in two circular cartouches positioned at upper left and upper right flanking the vignette, with 'ORTSGEMEINE' set across the top margin and the issuer name 'EBEN' in large decorative letters along the lower margin. |

Austrian Notgeld from the WWI period, issued by the Commune of Eben when the central monetary system could no longer supply small change in sufficient quantities. The fracturing of everyday commerce into locally printed scrip was widespread across Austria and Germany from roughly 1916 onward, with thousands of municipalities producing their own emergency fractions. Eben's issue is modest even within that flood — a single signatory, Franz Schmiedinger, whose role was almost certainly that of Bürgermeister or communal treasurer.
The Jaksch/Pick reference JPR0141Ib places this within the documented Austrian communal Notgeld corpus, though coverage for smaller villages in this catalog remains uneven.
