Bad Hall, a small Upper Austrian spa town whose iodine-rich springs had drawn visitors since the 19th century, issued notgeld like hundreds of other Austrian municipalities after the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system left small change in chronic short supply. The 75 Heller denomination is slightly unusual — most series leaned on round figures — and may reflect a specific local pricing need, possibly tied to bath fees or entry charges at the kurort facilities.
Austrian notgeld of this period was printed in enormous variety, and Bad Hall's issues are among the more obscure. Collector demand for this particular denomination has always trailed the more visually elaborate series from larger towns.
