| Obverse description | Central field displays the national coat of arms of Equatorial Guinea, featuring a silk-cotton tree (ceiba) on a shield, flanked by six six-pointed stars above the shield representing the mainland and islands. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto in three parts: UNIDAD, PAZ, and JUSTICA. The country name REPUBLICA DE GUINEA ECUATORIAL arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 19 97 divided on either side of the shield and the denomination 7000 FRANCOS inscribed along the lower rim. The design is struck in proof finish against a mirror field. |
