Bangladesh Bank issued this 70 Taka note in 2018 to mark the 70th anniversary of the partition of British India — specifically, the founding of Pakistan in 1947, from which Bangladesh itself emerged after the Liberation War of 1971. The denomination 70 has no place in the standard taka series; it exists purely as a commemorative figure, making it effectively a collector issue from the moment of release.
The security specification for P#65 is notably modest for a 21st-century commemorative — watermark only, without the thread or color-shifting ink common to regular-issue taka at the time.
