| Obverse description | The field is divided into four quadrants by diagonal bands, featuring chemical element symbols and atomic data drawn from the periodic table, including Ag (47, 107.87), Ni (28), Fe (26, 55.85), Cu, Zn (30, 65.38), and Au (107.87), referencing the metallurgical theme of the issue. The lower half of the field depicts a frontal view of Pha That Luang, the iconic golden stupa of Vientiane, rendered in fine relief against a horizontally lined background.
