Thiệu Trị, the fourth emperor of the Nguyễn dynasty, ruled for just six years before dying in 1847 — a reign short enough that his coinage is consistently underrepresented in collections relative to that of his father Minh Mạng. The 7 tiền denomination sits in an awkward commercial tier: too valuable for everyday market transactions, too small for major state payments, which likely kept actual circulation volumes modest and surviving examples in correspondingly better condition.
