Additional information

The 7 Kreuzer denomination was a short-lived experiment in the Habsburg provincial coinage system, introduced in Transylvania as part of Maria Theresa's broader monetary reforms following the financial strain of the Seven Years' War. The odd denomination was intended to rationalize exchange between the Kreuzer-based and Groschen-based systems circulating simultaneously in the eastern provinces.

Transylvania's mint at Hermannstadt (now Sibiu) handled production. The series was discontinued within a few years — the 7 Kreuzer value proved awkward in everyday commerce and was never widely adopted.
