(Translation: Sigismundus III, by God's grace King of Poland, Great Duke of Lithuania, Russia and Prussia.)
Reverse description Central device consisting of the oval civic arms of Gdańsk — two silver crosses on a black chief above a red field — set within an ornate cartouche whose lower lobes contain the divided date 16-14. The shield is supported on either side by two rampant lions facing inward, each with a naturalistic mane and raised forepaw. Above the shield, crossed palm and olive sprigs frame the composition, symbolizing peace and civic honor. The Latin legend encircles the design within a beaded border, commemorating the city's gift of this gold presentation piece.
