Reverse description The reverse presents a finely detailed frontal view of the Library of Celsus at Ephesus, a monumental Roman structure built in the 2nd century AD, depicted with its characteristic two-storey facade of Corinthian columns, niched statuary, and broad stepped podium. The architectural rendering fills the central field with high relief, conveying the grandeur of the ancient edifice. A bilingual circular legend surrounds the design: the Turkish inscription CELSUS KİTAPLIĞI - EFES - M.S. II. y.y. arcs along the upper border, while THE CELSUS LIBRARY - EPHESUS - 2nd CENTURY A.D. runs along the lower border. Two small five-pointed stars serve as separators within the legend.
