Obverse description Uniformed bust of Emperor Pedro I facing left, with date and mint mark placed in the exergue below. Two mint variants exist: mint mark R (Rio de Janeiro, KM#370.1) and mint mark B (Bahia, KM#370.2). The portrait is rendered in a neoclassical style consistent with early Brazilian imperial coinage. The legend encircles the effigy along the periphery.
