Reverse description The reverse displays a large terrestrial globe rendered with a grid of meridians and parallels, positioned centrally in the field and resting on a pedestal. Two armillary spheres — the symbol of Portugal's maritime sovereignty — flank the globe diagonally, crossing in front of it, with their circular rings and axis poles clearly delineated. The mint mark 'B' for Bahia appears incuse at the center of the globe. A circular Latin legend in capital letters encircles the design, reading 'SVBQ • SIGN • NATA STAB •', alluding to the steadfast birth under an auspicious sign, separated by ornamental stops. The overall composition is characteristic of the late 18th-century Portuguese colonial coinage style produced at the Bahia Mint.
