| Obverse description | The Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, is depicted centrally in the field, showing three lions passant upon an abacus adorned with a Dharma Chakra flanked by a bull and a horse. Immediately below the emblem appears the national motto in Devanagari script: सत्यमेव जयते (Truth Alone Triumphs). The legend भारत to the left and INDIA to the right arc along the periphery.
