Obverse description Conjoined busts of Queen Maria I and King Pedro III facing right, with laureate or draped profiles rendered in a rustic hammered style typical of colonial Goa coinage. The legend 'GOA' appears to the left of the busts and '60 R' to the right, denoting the mint and denomination. The date '1782' or the relevant year is inscribed below the busts in the lower field. The overall design is characteristic of the crude artisanal engraving of the Goa Mint during the late 18th century.
