| Obverse description | Central field features a large royal crown rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style, occupying the upper portion of the coin. Immediately below the crown, the denomination numeral '60' is struck in large characters. The circumference is bordered by a beaded inner circle, with a legend reading 'IOANNES V DEI GRATIA' running along the periphery. The design is characteristic of the rough workmanship typical of hammered coinage produced at the Goa Mint during the reign of King João V of Portugal. |

| Reverse description | Central motif consists of a bold Portuguese cross of the Order of Christ, its four arms widening toward the tips and set within a circular border. Small decorative elements — either dots or stars depending on the die variety — are placed at each corner between the arms of the cross. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle and an outer milled or toothed border. The reverse is plain of inscription, with the cross design serving as the sole device, as was standard for Portuguese Indian colonial coinage of this period. |
