Additional information

Haldenstein was among the smallest sovereign lordships in the Holy Roman Empire — a tiny enclave within the Graubünden region of what is now Switzerland — yet it maintained the legal right to strike coin, a privilege jealously guarded by Georg Philip von Schauenstein-Haldenstein during his tenure. The 60 Kreuzer denomination placed this issue squarely in the larger trade coinage category, circulating well beyond the lordship's own negligible borders.

The two-year window of production almost certainly reflects Georg Philip's reign span rather than any mint scheduling decision. Haldenstein's output was never large, and pieces attributable to this specific issue remain scarce in any condition.
