| Obverse description | Draped bust of Archbishop Charles Henry of Metternich-Winneburg facing right, wearing a clerical mozetta richly adorned with an archiepiscopal cross pectoral, and a long curled periwig characteristic of the late 17th-century Baroque style. The effigy is set within a raised inner circle, with the abbreviated Latin legend surrounding it in the outer field. The portrait is rendered with considerable detail in the drapery and facial features, reflecting the high-quality die-work of the Mainz Mint. |
