| Obverse description | Printed in purple on buff paper, the obverse is divided into two panels. The left panel carries the municipal coat of arms of Pöchlarn — a robed figure standing within a shield surmounted by an ornate crest — above the large numeral '60' and the issuer inscription 'Stadtgemeinde Pöchlarn im Nibelungengau'. The right panel bears the denomination heading 'Sechzig-Heller Kassen-Schein' in decorative Gothic script at the top, with a central vignette showing a view of Pöchlarn with a church steeple and a medieval round tower reflected along a riverbank; below are the validity clause 'Nur gültig bis', the expiry date '31. Pöchlarn, a small market town on the Danube in Lower Austria, was one of hundreds of Austrian municipalities forced to print its own emergency small change after the First World War. The postwar collapse of coin circulation — driven by metal hoarding and monetary chaos following the dissolution of the Habsburg empire — left local economies genuinely unable to conduct everyday transactions. Stadtgemeinde Pöchlarn's response was this 60 Heller Notgeld, issued in 1920 as the Austrian federal government still struggled to stabilize supply.
