| Obverse description | The obverse carries a central vignette of a bust portrait of Paul Hilber von Igls, dated 1809, enclosed within a laurel wreath, printed in dark ink on buff paper. To the upper left the denomination numeral '60' appears in bold Gothic script, with the large letter 'H' at upper right; the issuing text and denomination in words occupy the left panel in Gothic lettering, while the right panel states the redemption deadline of 31 December 1920. Two manuscript signatures appear at lower right, those of the Bürgermeister (Maurer) and the Kassier (N. Kasaur), with a decorative chain border framing the entire note. |

Igls is a small alpine village above Innsbruck — today absorbed into the city as a district, but in 1920 still operating as an independent Kurgemeinde, a resort municipality with a specific administrative function tied to spa and tourist governance. The notgeld it issued that year was a local necessity: the postwar collapse of the Austrian crown had produced a severe small-change shortage, and mountain resort communities were as affected as any urban center.
Wagner in Innsbruck printed a substantial volume of Tyrolean notgeld during this period. The 60 Heller denomination is one of the less common values in the Igls series.
