Obverse description The obverse features the Portuguese coat of arms superimposed upon an armillary sphere at center, rendered in fine relief. The shield displays the traditional quinas (five escutcheons arranged in a cross) and the castle-studded bordure of Portugal, surmounted by a mural crown. The legend TIMOR arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination $60 appears in large numerals along the lower field. Small floral ornaments flank the central device at left and right, and a fine beaded border runs along the coin's rim.
