(Translation: New silver coin of the province of Zeeland)
Reverse description Central device depicts the seated Lion of the Netherlands facing left, shown in three-quarter view, holding a tall staff surmounted by a broad-brimmed hat (the so-called 'hoedjes' or hat motif, emblematic of Dutch liberty) in its right paw and a bundle of arrows — representing the seven united provinces — in its left. The lion rests upon a pedestal or platform, with additional heraldic accessories visible in the lower field. A circular Latin legend, separated from the coin's toothed edge by a fine inner border, runs around the periphery.
