Obverse description Crowned provincial shield bearing the fourteen-part arms of the Frisian cities and quarters, with Oostergo, Westergo, and Sevenwolden arranged along the upper tier, surmounting a Burgundian cross in the lower field. The shield is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the peripheral legend distributed around the circumference of the coin. The overall style is characteristic of early seventeenth-century Dutch provincial hammered coinage, with the arms rendered in a compact, heraldic arrangement typical of Friesland issues of this period.
