| Reverse description | A crowned quartered royal shield of arms occupies the centre of the field, displaying the arms of Scotland (lion rampant), England (three lions passant guardant), France (three fleurs-de-lis), and Ireland (harp) in their respective quarters. To the left of the shield appears the initial mark C and to the right the letter R, together forming the monogram CR (Carolus Rex). The shield is surmounted by an arched imperial crown with elaborate detail. A beaded inner circle frames the design, with the Latin motto legend running around the periphery. |
