| Reverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line nastaliq inscription divided by a horizontal rule, with the pious invocation and mint formula arranged across the flan. The upper register carries the phrase 'Khallad Allah mulkahu' (May Allah perpetuate his reign), while the lower portion bears the mint name Astarabad, all enclosed within a dotted inner border. Pellet ornaments are scattered throughout the field between the inscription elements, a decorative convention common to Afsharid hammered coinage. The reverse fabric is irregular and slightly off-center, consistent with hand-struck production techniques of the mid-eighteenth century. |
