Obverse description Letterpress-printed note executed in black text with red decorative elements on white paper stock. The denomination is set within a rectangular panel at the head of the note, beneath which the promissory text is rendered in period typeface; the royal cypher of King Christian VIII appears to the left, with the crowned Greenlandic polar bear coat of arms to the right. The overall design is spare and typographic in character, consistent with early nineteenth-century Scandinavian colonial emergency currency practice.
Obverse lettering 6 Rb.Skl. Denne Anviisning gielder for Sex Rigsbank Skilling ved Handelsſtederne i Grönland. Kiöbenhavn, 1841
(Translation: 6 Rigsbankskilling This note is valid for six Rigsbankskilling at the Trading Posts in Greenland. Copenhagen, 1841)
