| Reverse description | The large Roman numeral VI dominates the central field within a plain inner circle, denoting the coin's denomination of six Pfennig. A Latin legend is distributed around the numeral in the outer ring between the inner circle and a beaded border, reading ANNO. DOMI(NI), referencing the year of the Lord. The design is simple and functional, consistent with the low-denomination copper coinage of the Westphalian ecclesiastical territories in the mid-17th century. The strike shows typical characteristics of hammered coinage with slight irregularities in the flan. |

Theodore Adolphus von der Recke served as Bishop of Paderborn from 1650 until his death in 1661, and this copper issue belongs to the immediate post-Westphalian period when ecclesiastical territories across the Holy Roman Empire were scrambling to reestablish functioning local economies after thirty years of war had devastated coinage circulation throughout Westphalia. Small copper denominations like this one filled a practical gap left by the near-total collapse of reliable low-value specie during the conflict. The Bishopric's minting activity under Theodore Adolphus is documented across only a handful of types, making each catalogued variety — Schwede distinguishes at least one subvariety at this denomination — relatively specific to a short and administratively constrained output.
